Multi-Swimmer Discount on Monthly Practice Fees

 

The discount is for year-round, competitive team swimmers and applies to monthly fees paid by a single family with 2 or more swimmers. Discounts will be applied from lowest to highest monthly fee. Discount will be automatically applied during the months where there are multiple swimmers active on an account.

• No discount for the 1st swimmer

• 10% discount for the 2nd swimmer

• 15% discount for the 3rd swimmer

HVA Current/Virginia Swimming/USA Swimming Scholarship/Outreach Program​​

 

Purpose of the Scholarship/Outreach Program:

• All three organizations offer reduced membership/practice/swim meet entry fees to a swimmer who qualifies on the basis of financial need.

Number of Scholarships Available For the 2026-27 Season:

• The HVA Current Swim Team will be able to offer a scholarship for up to 10 swimmers.

​

What Scholarships Include:

• USA Swimming Membership Registration: $5.00 per swimmer, per year

• HVA Current Membership Registration: $25 per swimmer, per year

• HVA Current Practice/Training Fee:
  ○ Ripples (8 & younger) $50 per swimmer, per month
  ○ Waves (9 to 11 year olds) $60 per swimmer, per month
  ○ Riptides (12 to 14 year olds) $80 per swimmer, per month
  ○ Tsunami (14 to 18 year olds) $90 per swimmer, per month

• Fundraising & Meet Manpower Requirements
  ○ Fundraising: $275
  ○ Meet Manpower Requirements: 1 additional swim meet session from what is listed on the team Volunteer & Meet Manpower Agreement for the group the swimmer is placed.

• Swim Meet Entry Fees
  ○ Virginia Swimming will pay for 100% of the event entry fee for a swimmer that competes in an event.
  ○ Cost to the Swimmer
     ■ Per Meet Swimmer Surcharge ($2.50 for most meets; occasionally a higher amount)
     ■ 50% of event entry fee when a swimmer is entered and does not compete in an event for any reason
     ■ Relay Participation: The HVA Current Swim Team pays for all relays that the team enters. If assigned to a relay and the swimmer does not show up, which causes the relay to be scratched, the no-show swimmer is charged the full cost of the relay entry. ($12.00 to $25.00)
     ■ Entry Fee payment coverage is only for meets held in Virginia. Out-of-state or national-level meets are not included. The swimmer would be responsible for full payment of all entry fees.

 

Scholarship/Outreach Program Qualifications:

• The yearly income guidelines used by local school districts to qualify students for the National School Lunch program Free or Reduced Meals will be used to qualify a swimmer for this scholarship. A swimmer does not have to participate in the actual lunch program in order to qualify for the Scholarship/Outreach program. A copy of one of the following must be provided to show proof of need:
  ○ National Free or Reduced Meals Program verification form
  ○ Medicaid Card
  ○ SNAP (Food Stamp) Letter
  ○ Current signed federal tax return showing the income guideline has been met
  ○ Other documentation that is consistent with the Income Eligibility Guidelines for the national School Lunch Program.

 

​Application Procedure:

• The parents/guardians apply for the scholarship to the HVA Current Swim Team (Club) on behalf of the swimmer.

• The Club reviews documents to determine the qualifications for the Scholarship.

• After verification, the Club submits an application to the Virginia Swimming Registration Chair.

• The Club must receive approval from the Virginia Swimming Registration Chair before the Scholarship can be awarded to the swimmer

• The parents/guardians of the swimmer will be notified.
