A Non-Profit with Heart

As a non-profit club, we're all about giving back. Our elected Board of Directors meets each month, and every HVA Current member is not only welcome but encouraged to join us in shaping our team's future. We're all in this together, and all our competitions and activities are powered by the dedication of our incredible parents and families.

Frequently Asked Questions

01.

When is the swim season?

HVAC participates in two competitive seasons: Short Course (Sep-Mar) and Long Course (Apr-Jul/Aug). We also offer special FLEX programming for those participating in multiple activities, and a special clinic program from April-May for area swimmers who want to get ready for Summer Swim.

02.

When are the swim meets?

Swim meets are usually Saturday-Sunday, although some meets may begin as early as Thursday evening. Each meet has a meet announcement that will include all information regarding the dates and times of the meet.

Most of the meets we attend are open to all swimmers on the team. However, some meets have limitations based upon age and/or times as well as USA Swimming registration requirements.

03.

When are the swim practices?

This depends on the time of year. During the school year, practices are during the evenings, and during the summer, practices are in the mornings. The number of practices and exact times depend on the age and level of your child. You can view our general practice schedule under "Team Information".

04.

Does my child have to know how to swim already?

We require all children signing up to be able to float on both their stomach and their back, tread water, and complete one length of the pool swimming freestyle (with an attempt at rotary breathing), and backstroke. Swimmers should also have an understanding of breaststroke and butterfly.

05.

How much does it cost?

Registration fees vary depending on the practice group the swimmer is assigned to. We are a non-profit swim club but operate efficiently on a very small margin. Depending on the age of the swimmer and season, monthly costs can range from $100-$350 per child.
